Father of Waters Pipes and Drums

The purpose of the Father of Waters Pipes and Drums is to propogate and teach the arts of Scottish Highland piping and drumming through organized rehearsals, teaching sessions and performances. We welcome all Mississippians who are interested in learning these ancient and time-honored arts, that the communities and State of Mississippi might be enriched with a knowledge and sense of our Celtic heritage.

Our specific goals as a band:

to develop our musical performance and repertoire

to improve our marching, piping and drumming technique by way of band workshops with expert clinicians from the piping and drumming world

to perform and be recognized throughout the State of Mississippi

to recruit prospective pipers and drummers and to develop a music education program which will provide excellent instruction which will make our recruits competent musicians and performing members of the band

to eventually be recognized as the official pipe and drum band of the State of Mississippi - Read the State proclamation Senate Concurrent Resolution No.521 recognizing the Father of Waters Pipes and Drums.
